Acts 2:42-47

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Church Membership

Why does Church Membership Matter?

The universal Church known biblically as “The Body of Christ” is made up of believers all over the world (Romans 12:5). Our local churches are a smaller organism of the universal church. It is true that as believers in Christ, we all have our names written in the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 20:12) and that it what is most important. However, it is also important to commit to a local church in our community where we can have accountability, give of our resources and spiritual gifts, train to be disciples of Jesus, and serve others. We do this knowing that all of us make us one body functioning together for the cause of Christ and the gospel. (1 Corinthians 12: 12-26)

What does it mean to be a member of Restore Church?

Members of Restore Church will affirm that they agree with and support the mission statement of Restore Church: “Restoring People Back To God’s Family”

Members will also affirm and agree to share the seven values of Restore Church:

God Encounters (Hebrews 10:22)

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Solid Biblical Teaching (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

– Determined to apply Bible teaching to their lives and live out scripture.
– Facing the difficult or convicting truths of the Bible with courage and grace.
– Attending Bible classes to learn the depths of scriptural topics and themes.
– Developing a personal habit of reading scripture.

Committed Discipleship (Luke 6:40)

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.

Real Relationship (John 15:11-12)

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Servant Hearts (Luke 22:26)

But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.

Gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Honor (Proverbs 3:9)

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;

« And now what are you waiting for?
Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name. »

Acts 22:16

Baptism

Is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”

Why do I need to get baptized?

When Jesus completed His earthly ministry, dying on the cross, being buried and rising on the third day, he commissioned His disciples with spreading the Good News that Jesus is the way to relationship with God.
In this commission He commanded them to, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

What does it mean to be baptized?

Due to Jesus’ command, we obey the gospel outline of water baptism, which is an outward expression of the inward decision and transformation of salvation. It is the public declaration of a believer who has left their life of sin behind, in the grave, and has taken on the righteousness of Jesus, in the likeness of His resurrection.
